Yahoo!Xtra e-mail fiasco

Submitted by Mike Birch on 5 October 2008 - 8:45pm.

Ever had your e-mail account given to another person? Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it, but it happened to me today with my Yahoo!Xtra address.

I hardly ever use my Xtra e-mail address. However, it's on my “Send & Receive All” schedule, and this morning when I checked my e-mail, the Xtra account failed to connect — apparently my password was incorrect. I have had an Xtra account for about 10 years and I have never changed the password (although it’s a good idea to regularly change such passwords). I went to the Yahoo!Xtra website and followed the “forgotten password” link and reset the password (to the one I have always used). I pressed “Send & Receive” in my e-mail client again, and this time it worked.

We have found a handy website, www.mapmyrun.com, which lets you map a route and view the distances and elevation profiles. It doesn't require registration - just save your map anonymously and bookmark the result for future reference.
