Tom Ashworth asks Web Standards. Should my Business Website be Compliant? in which he says “web standards bring real tangible benefits to business”.

Some of the positive points about using standards based designs, from this article:

  • People using screen readers, mobiles, PDA's and other web browsing methods to be able to navigate your site.
  • Your site will also be more accessible and meaningful to search engines.
  • Maintenance is made easier, meaning your site can be more easily altered.
  • Smaller file sizes mean that pages load quickly (providing a better experience for customers on slow connections), consume less bandwidth (reducing hosting costs to your business).

“Web standards are the future of the internet and to ignore it could leave your business trailing behind the online competition.”

OK Computer has been producing standards compliant websites since Jan 2005. Read about our approach to web design and development.
